Music composition can seem intimidating, with the specter of musical geniuses of the past hanging over our heads. But you don't have to be the next Beethoven to write music that fulfills yourself and others (although if you want to be, we can work on that too)! Finding your voice, expressing yourself, or just dabbling with different combinations of notes is an utter delight, and I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of composing and developing their craft.

I have a DMA in Composition from University of Kansas, and have been teaching at the university level for over a decade. I love basically every kind of music, and am happy to help you flourish in any style or genre!

Composition lessons are available either in person or via Zoom, either in half an hour ($15) or hour ($25) sessions. I recommend sending me any materials the day before so that I have a chance to look them over before the lesson and we can maximize our time together.
